Lunch from 1 - 2. Bennington, VT

Prepare a brief song. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but may not transpose.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

Oldcastle Theatre Company is a 41 year old theatre with an LOA contract $375.00 per week plus AEA benefits. We will also be seeing Stage Managers - $450.00 per week. This is a five week commitment. Oldcastle is renovating a new space in downtown Bennington. This will be the inaugural production in the new space.

Note: This production will open Oldcastle's new theatre at 331 Main Street in Bennington.

Description: A brand new old-fashioned musical with music and lyrics by our own Carleton Carpenter and Book by Keven Brofsky. A delightful, tuneful, wonderful new musical following a young couple through courtship, marriage, children and grandchildren with ups and downs, wins and losses and a bucketful of marvelous songs.

The musical's first scene opens in 1941. The final scene is 40 years later in 1981. The musical is set in the Jackson Heights section of Queen, New York. Seeking the following 8 roles:

Jerry

Is 21 at the top of the play and ages 40 years. He is an over-eager, energetic, optimistic WWII vet who opens a restaurant with his wife

Roslyn

Is pretty, one year younger than Jerry, more down to earth

Mrs. Golden/Mrs. McSherry/ Mrs. Washington/ Mrs. D'Angelo

All to be played by the same actress--All are landlords who own the building the restaurant is in. All are middle-aged and of various ethnic backgrounds.

Saul

Middle-aged at the beginning of the play, He is Roslyn's father. He is small and likeable.

Celia

Roslyn's mother, Saul's wife- well-dressed, somewhat aloof.

Dorothy

20 at the top of play, looks older, attractive, former classmate of Jerry's and Roslyn's.

Michael

Jerry and Roslyn's son, plays guitar, wants to be a singer--teeenagers. Handsome, energetic.

Margo/Connie

Pretty, young women.
