Seeking 3 actor musicians who can sing for ensemble piece. Actors portray old friends, southern working class men from the North Carolina coast, raising funds to help rebuild after the latest hurricane. While serious about taking care of the land and their neighbors, they don't take themselves too seriously. Down home heart, fish tales and a good ribbing in healthy portions. Actors should come prepared to sing a song while playing. A piano will be available.

CATHERINE CROLL (40s). Attractive, highly successful academic. Usually confident and driven, she is becoming increasingly reckless as she faces the mortality of her aging mother and the possibility of a family of her own eclipsed by a rising star career.
GWEN HARPER (40s). Catherine’s friend and room-mate from graduate school, now married to Don with two children. Stay at home mom who keeps her family on track, she struggles to suppress rising frustration with her marriage and regrets about what her life might have been.
DON HARPER (40s). Gwen’s husband, father of two and Catherine’s graduate school boyfriend. Charismatic, smart and flirtatious, he is a former collegiate hot shot who has lost his drive and lacks the motivation to energize his career or his marriage.
ALICE CROLL (60s-70s). Catherine’s mother, recently suffered a heart attack but is feeling healthy and well. A pragmatic peace keeper who adores her daughter, she believes in traditional gender roles within a relationship and that women win husbands through artful manipulation.
AVERY WILLLIARD (20s). Bright, energetic, has-it-all-figured-out college student. With the confidence of youth with choices and outcomes yet to be determined, she often has the clearest head amidst those around her facing mid-life crisis.

MARY (20s - 30s). Energetic, lovingly self-deprecating with a quick-witted sense of humor. Mary is launched back into the dating game after her fiancé cheats on her at Thanksgiving. Alongside the role of Mary, actor portrays multiple characters from Mary’s life and engages with the audience throughout the piece.

BERTIE WILBERFORCE WOOSTER (30s-40s). An affluent bachelor with a tendency to get himself into tricky situations. Simply has not grown up and has little understanding of the world around him. Even though he's self centered he's very likeable and harmless.
JEEVES (40s) Bertie's unflappable valet. Level headed. Always thinking 5 steps ahead. Long suffering but discreet and flawlessly mannered.
NIGEL BINGHAM-BINKERSTETH (“BINKY”) (30s – 40s) Bertie’s friend with a penchant for ridiculous logic. AWOL from a diplomatic assignment in Washington, he is in New York chasing love and his dream of being a star of the stage.
RUBY LeROY (20s – 30s) Binky’s love interest. An ambitious young actress with working class roots and New Yorker street smarts. Role requires singing.
“KNUCKLES” McCANN (50s – 60s) A New York tough guy with a mob boss-esk attitude. He’s taken an active paternal interest in Miss LeRoy’s career. Not afraid to think with his fists.
VIVIENNE DUCKWORTH (30s – 40s) A “terribly earnest, high-minded” Englishwoman “in spectacles and a tweed suit.” She is well acquainted with Bertie and Binky and has a low opinion of both. On her first trip to the States, she is always in command and holds her own with the likes of Knuckles McCann.

BROOKE WYETH (30s-40s). A professional writer with Liberal minded political views. Struggling with her family’s personal and political past, she declares righteous independence while seeking the approval and validation of her Conservative parents.
LYMAN WYETH (50s – 70s). Brooke’s father, dependable and kind. A former Hollywood B actor turned conservative politician with a deep love for his family. “He is sturdy in the way of old Californians of a particular type.”
POLLY WYETH (50s – 70s). Brooke’s mother, “elegant, forthright and whip-smart”. Devoted to the Republican party and the Reagans. She is a fierce advocate for her family’s health as well as the preservation of their social status.
TRIP WYETH (20s-30s). Brooke’s witty, easy going and observant younger brother. A reality TV producer whose success often goes unheralded next to the drama of his sister’s life. He cares deeply about his family and uses humor to broker peace across the political divide.
SILDA GRAUMAN (50s-70s). Brooke’s liberal, Bohemian styled aunt and polar opposite of Polly, Brooke’s mother. “A mess. No makeup, hair disheveled. She wears a muumuu and carries a pill case marked with the days of the week.” Despite being supported by the Wyeths following a stint in rehab, Silda encourages Brooke’s opinions and routinely vexes Polly.
