Breakdown

Marisol:
Mid 20s. Puerto Rican Woman: a young smart, independent, beautiful upwardly-mobile Latina suddenly thrust into a nightmarish journey through the apocalyptic wasteland of New York City. Being use to shutting her eyes to all of the ugliness of the world, Marisol now has to find her power and strength to fight and survive. Looking for an Actress who can transform from being a vulnerable scared follower to a strong warrior. Need an Actress good with language, sense of humor, and physical theater training is a plus.

Lenny/Man with Scar Tissue/Man with Ice Cream/Man with Golf Club:
White Male late 20s to mid 30s: to play four men in mental distress. All of these characters have violent outbursts and some sort of meltdown. Need an actor who can instill humor, charm, and rage in these roles. Lenny is obsessed with Marisol, and is paranoid. Looking for an actor who can physically transform from one character to the next and with a sense of humor.

June and Ensemble:
Age 33-38. Irish-American: Bright, hyper, “dressed in cool East Village Clothes”. She is Marisol’s co-worker, and in love with her. June transforms from a sweet loving caretaker/protector to a ranting racist violent Skin Head. Looking for an Actress with a sense of humor.

Woman with Furs and Ensemble:
White 30s-40s Privileged. Ex Lawyer: Lost in the apocalyptic Bronx wasteland, trying to get to Les Miserables. She is a bit delirious and over whelmed over the world and what it is coming to. She is very fearful and deeply troubled. Think privileged upper east side socialite stuck in the Bronx of the 70s. Fish out of Water...Actress with a Sense of Humor.

Angel and Ensemble:
Age 20s-30s Protector, strong, spiritual, and young black woman. An Urban Burnt Out Warrior of some lost cause. She is Marisol's guardian Angel. She might have a puckish side to her. Need an actress with strength, humor, good with language, and a good command of her body. Some physical theater training a plus.
