Seeking the following:
Cornelia Cunningham
(female, 60s): This role is Cast A classy lady of a certain age. Moving out of her Manhattan brownstone into a retirement home, Cornelia has come to view her life of grace and privilege as a crime, one she must atone for by giving all of her money and possessions away. Sharp-minded and sharp-witted, she is also generous and curious.
Harvey Clark
(male, early 30s to mid 30s): An attractive young lawyer who specializes in Trusts and Estates. Engaged, though his fiancée thinks he is too focused on his career. A little uptight, he’s eager and serious-minded. He does not believe Scott for one minute, leading to tension with Cornelia.
Walker “Scott” Williams
(male, African-American, early 20s): An attractive, charming, ingratiating young man who claims to be Cornelia’s grandson, the result of her daughter’s affair with a married African-American man. Ebullient and indomitable, he arrives at Cornelia’s brownstone to make his case and stake a claim to a part of her wealth.
Jessica Worth
(female, Asian-American, early 20s): A young woman studying music at Julliard. She is called to Cornelia’s brownstone to receive a grand piano, after proving she can play a Cole Porter song. Note: This role requires singing very well.
Agnes Munger
(female, 60s): An elderly maid who has worked for Cornelia for over thirty years. She’s quick-witted, sarcastic, and speaks the plain truth, though also kind. She’s proud of her work, but looking forward to the end of domestic labor. Cornelia is leaving her a sizeable trust. Note: The role requires an Irish accent.
