MC HOLLY DAYE: African-American or Latinx Female. (30s-40s) Female version of Billy Porter. Dynamic Singer: R & B, soaring gospel. Host of the Show, fabulous & entertaining. Charismatic, great sense of humor, the local weather personality, beloved by all. All types. Martha Wash, Sherri Shepherd/Yvette Nicole Brown type. Performer should be comfortable with improvisation, interacts with the audience throughout the evening. Vocal Range: Alto/2nd Sop
CLARA/COMMUNITY PLAYER: African-American or POC Female. (20s) The consummate R&B/pop princess. A young Brandi/Monica/Selena/Aaliyah. Youthful, energetic, fun: has a sincere positivity that ultimately saves the Christmas show. Vocal styling of early Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Ariana Grande. Performer should be comfortable with choreography (hit poses, a groove, Deena in “Dreamgirls”) Vocal Range: Soprano with pop & R/B sound. Sings a Gospel version of “O Holy Night”.
ORNA MINT/COMMUNITY PLAYER: African-American Female. (30s-40s) A classy powerhouse with a thrilling gospel sound. Regal, elegant; has an inner Patti LaBelle, which is her secret weapon. A community organizer & leader who helps raise money for the less fortunate of Tinselville. Passionate about helping others & the spirit of generosity. Doesn’t hold back vocally or emotionally when it comes to a good cause. Vocal style: Cece Winans, Tamilla Mann, Fantasia or Tasha Cobbs Leonard. Vocal range: Soaring soprano with range.
OLIVER WINTERS/SCROOGE/COMMUNITY PLAYER: African-American Male. (30s-40s) A leading man, soulful, open-hearted, traditional, spiritual. A genuine gospel/R&B singer in the styles of Smokie Norful, John Legend, Sam Cooke. A leader within the community whom everyone admires and respects. He’s charming, with a clever sense of humor. A great mover. Vocal range: High Tenor/1st Tenor
MRS. CLAUS/COMMUNITY PLAYER: Caucasian Female. (30s-40s) A versatile singer who can captivate an audience in the way of a cabaret artist or nightclub performer. A Bette Midler type. Fun, grounded, outgoing personality, flirty, comedic. All types. Vocally comfortable moving from jazz to contemporary to folk. The musical styling of Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga w/Tony Bennett, Joni Mitchell. Sings Maoz Tzur (in Hebrew). Vocal range: Soprano with range.
