Available Roles:

AMY CHOY - 40, female, AAPI. first grandchild. the oldest girl. a cyclone. partner at an entertainment law firm in LA. was voted ‘most likely to be president’ in high school. Tough, sometimes resentful, a ball of unfulfilled desire. The Goneril of the play. also plays MOTHER and MARGARET.

LAI-FA CHOY - 25, female, AAPI. third grandchild. the youngest. a dogwood tree in April. grad student at CUNY in the social work program. never left Chinatown. Loves her a-poh. thinks of herself as an activist. doesn't always have a good plan but usually has good intentions. The Cordelia of the play. also plays TONG, DAUGHTER, and GUAN YU.

WESLEY CHIU - 40, male, AAPI. the developer. Harry Shum Jr. type. big shot, but in a deceptively unthreatening way. Harvard MBA. used to live three blocks away a long time ago. wasn't cute in high school, but turned into a hot guy. Street smart and book smart. Holds a grudge but is very very patient with when to execute. The Edmund of the play. also plays DOCTOR, PASSERBY, SUN WUKONG, RAYMOND, and REPORTER.

A-POH (GRANDMA) - 80, female, AAPI. grandma. the matriarch. made of the earth. the no-bullshit, work hard and no play type. independent by circumstance, self-reliant by choice. loves her grandchildren. The King Lear of the play.

STEVEN CHOY - 38, male, AAPI. second grandchild. the only boy. a dank cave. otolaryngologist in Bergen County, New Jersey. 吃软饭, or “eats soft rice” — as my mom used to say. big fan of the path of least resistance. Kind of a pushover, but has some feisty fight in him. The Regan of the play. also plays CHANG’E, JEFFREY, and NURSE.
