SEEKING
Equity actors for roles in INDECENT (see breakdown).
PREPARATION
Please prepare a short musical selection (1 minute or less) in a specific cultural folk tradition (Klezmer, Irish folk, etc…) AND a short (1-2 minute) monologue of your choosing. An accompanist will be provided.
Please bring your headshot and resume stapled together. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

- Lemml - the Stage Manager. Male. 30s to 50s. A kind-hearted country tailor whose life is forever changed upon reading Asch’s “The God of Vengeance”. Lemml exemplifies the belief that theatre can transform our lives and the lives of those around us. Vocal range: F#2 to E3
- Chana/others - The Ingenue. Female. 20s to 30s. Passionate, adventurous, and smart. Vocal range: G2 to E3. Doubles as: Rifkele, Madje, Elsa, Immigrant, Ruth/Reina, Virginia McFadden, Bagelman Sister.
- Halina/others - The Middle. Female. 20s to 40s. Sophisticated, frank, and unconcerned with politics. Vocal range: D2 to E3. Doubles as: Manke, Immigrant, Freida, Dorothee Nelson/Dine, Dr. Hornig, Bagelman Sister.
- Vera/others - The Elder. Female. 40s to 60s. Protective, witty, with a strong bite. Vocal range: G2 to E3. Doubles as: Sarah, Mrs. Peretz, Immigrant, Esther Stockton, Madje
- Avram/others - The Ingénue. Male. 20s to 30s. Rebellious, ambitious, and passionate. Vocal range: F#2 to E3. Doubles as: Sholem Asch, Immigrant, Morris Carnovsky, Eugene O’Neill, John Rosen
- Mendel/others - The Middle. Male. 40s to 50s. Traditional and conservative. Vocal range: F#2 to E3. Doubles as: Nakhmen, Immigrant, Harry Weinberger, Officer Benjamin Bailie, Rabbi Joseph Silverman
