BREAKDOWN
THE ROLE OF EVA PERON HAS BEEN CAST. All other roles are open. Equity contracts will be considered from among the following roles: Che, Juan Peron, Magaldi, Mistress. Palos Verdes Performing Arts strongly encourages submissions from performers of all backgrounds.
CHE: (Male, 18-35) The narrator of the show. Charming, impulsive, intelligent and sarcastic, he is a radical activist who isn’t afraid to hold Eva and Juan accountable for their actions. High rock tenor, low A to high B, falsetto to high F.
JUAN PERON: (Male, 30-50) An officer in the Argentinian army who rises to become the Argentine President. Dignified, charming, and authoritative, but aware of the dangerous position he is in. Deeply in love with Eva, and willing to go along to get along with her political aspirations. Bass/Baritone to high F.
MISTRESS: (Female, 18-25) Juan Peron’s mistress who is “dismissed” by Eva. Beautiful, fragile, vulnerable and innocent. She is also a member of the ensemble. Low A to a high E.
MAGALDI: (Male, to play 30 - 40) A tango singer with whom Eva has her first love affair. Overly charming and a bit slick, he is a larger-than-life classic lounge singer who gets more than he bargained for with Eva. He is also a member of the ensemble. High tenor High G.
