SEEKING:
Dhatta. (female) Indian woman, 40s. A homemaker/housewife of her era to a tee. Of an upper-class background. Brahmin caste. Plays by the rules, except when she doesn’t.
Vasanta. (female) Indian woman. 40s. She resists, fights against AND succumbs to the rules of a man’s world. A bombshell, with grit, who was abandoned by her father and raised by a single mother. Of a lower caste and class, but breaks boundaries.
Rohan. (male) Indian man, 20s/college age. Reserved, whip smart, with a streak of fire and an edge that he has yet to manifest in his life.
Hassanali. (male) Indian man, 20s/college age. Gregarious, a mover and a shaker, always pushing himself and others to the edge.
Shiv. (male) Indian man 40s. A deal maker. Soni Caste (goldsmith family). A failed businessman who has a chip on his shoulder, but a vulnerable heart.
Charu. (male) Indian man 40s. A quiet achiever. A well-to-do Brahmin doctor.
Young Woman in Red (YW1). (female) Indian woman 20s. Idealistic, mirrors Dhatta’s character. Strong mover, comfort/ability to learn movement and gesture vocabulary with ease.
Young Woman in Gold (YW2). (female) Indian woman 20s. Idealistic, mirrors Vasanta’s character. Strong mover, comfort/ability to learn movement and gesture vocabulary with ease.
Young Man (YM1). (male) Indian man 20s. A charming electric presence. Can incite a connection with anyone. Strong mover, comfort/ability to learn movement and gesture vocabulary with ease
INSTRUCTIONS
If you are using an iPhone to video record, be sure to film horizontally and in a well-lit space (not backlit). At the top of the video, slate your name. Please prepare a one-minute monologue of your choice. Please email your headshot/resume along with the video audition. Send the video, in a downloadable format (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) In the subject line, please type: [Your full name] - [The role for which you’d like to be considered]
