The Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald: Male, 18-36. Tenor C3-G4. Woodie Guthrie/Pete Seeger type folk singer; ability to play guitar a plus. Slight to average build; rural Louisiana twang. Asian, Pacific Islander or South Asian. (This Role has been Pre-Cast)

The Proprietor: Male, 30+. the Grim Reaper, handing out weapons and overseeing the demise of presidents and assassins alike. His power is in his omnipresence and indifference; he exudes dramatic irony and restrained wit; tenor, Gb2-F4. (This Role has been Pre-Cast).

John Wilkes Booth: 18-49. tall and distinguished; character will need a genteel Southern accent. A political zealot, Wilkes is the pioneer of American assassination and acts as leader and twisted mentor to the other assassins; baritone, F2-G4. (This Role has been Pre-Cast)

Leon Czolgosz: Male, 25-35. (pronounced CHOL-gash), slight of build. Czolgosz was an anarchist who, in killing William McKinley, decided to take matters of government into his own hands for the sake of the common man; bass baritone, G#2-G4. (This Role has been Pre-Cast)

Guiseppe Zangara: Male, 18-49. possibly has short stature; has a heavy Italian accent. Zangara blamed capitalists and kings for his medical conditions and attempted an assassination of Franklin D. Roosevelt—instead killing Mayor Cermak of Chicago. (This Role has been Pre-Cast)

John Hinckley: Male, 25-30. husky; ability to play guitar a plus. Hinckley used a sociopathic obsession with Jodie Foster as his excuse to attempt an assassination of Ronald Reagan in 1981. Charles J. Guiteau: Male, 30-59. average in stature. Guiteau was a multi-careered charlatan with delusions of grandeur who assassinated James Garfield in 1882. This intense libertine has a multi-personality characterization and a flair for the dramatics; tenor, A2-Ab4. (This Role has been Pre-Cast)

Samuel Byck: Male, 30-59. heavy set; blue-collar Philly accent. Byck was disgruntled at government and all it stood for when he attempted to hijack a plane with the intent of crashing it into the Nixon White House. Tenor, baritone, or bass-baritone. (This Role has been Pre-Cast)

Sharp and overbearing, focused on her daughter achieving her American dream. (also plays internet fan Noise #1, a festival Emcee, and an exasperated Teacher.)

ADRIAN TONG: Asian-American femme lesbian cisgender woman (22). A captivating singer-songwriter and guitar player*. Exudes an effortless confidence and beauty. A people pleaser. The brains and soul of their band Queer Malady. Dash and Adrian should have competing stage presence and star quality. *Note: Should be comfortable playing basic-to-intermediate acoustic guitar (chords) and rocking out to the instrument. There will not be complex fingerpicking or lead electric guitar.

DAD: Asian immigrant cisgender man in his early 50s, with a Chinese accent. Dash’s Dad. Warm, friendly, cheerful, supportive, overly positive. (also plays internet fan Noise #3, college radio DJ Kevin “K Dawg” Nguyen, and dudebro Seth.)

MADISON: White cisgender teenage girl (16). Quirky and kind. (also plays internet fan Noise #4 and no-nonsense executive Jordan Speller.)

CARLY: African-American cisgender butch lesbian woman (25). She is Adrian’s girlfriend, has a big physical presence, potentially threatening to Dash’s masculinity. (also plays internet fan Noise #5 and teenage bully Ashley.)
