Seeking Equity Actors in the upcoming 2020 season. See breakdown below.


PREPARATION

prepare 32 bars of a traditional musical song and a two minute monologue or two contrasting monologues not to exceed three minutes overall.

BREAKDOWN

Big River

Huckleberry Finn: A poor teenaged boy, with no mother. His father is a violent drunk who is rarely around. Huck had been homeless, living in a large barrel. Through a series of adventures told in the story of Tom Sawyer, Huck had gained a small fortune of $6000. At the beginning of the play, he had been taken in and cared for by two sisters.

Widow Douglas and Miss Watson: Two sisters who are taking care of Huck and his education. They both care very much about religion. Miss Watson is a slave owner.

Jim: A slave belonging to Miss Watson, Jim has run away to find his family. He is very superstitious but knows Huck and cares for him as they journey down the river.

Tom Sawyer: Huck’s friend, Tom is a teenaged boy who loves adventure novels.

The Gang of Boys: Ben Rogers, Jo Harper, and Simon are teenaged boys living in St. Petersburg, Illinois.

Pap Finn: Huck’s father, Finn is a vagabond drunk.

The Addams Family

Gomez Addams, 35-40 An attractive man of Spanish descent, who adores his wife, takes great pride in his children, and is immensely proud to be an Addams.

Morticia Addams, 35-40 Beautiful, leggy, the real head of the family and the critical and moving force behind it

Uncle Fester, 30-50: Serves as the musical’s narrator; rotund and child-like, hugely enthusiastic and totally incorrigible.

Wednesday Addams, just wants her family to be “normal” for one night to meet the parents of the boy she’s fallen in love with; strong pop belt vocals.

Pugsley Addams, A charming, funny, husky boy who loves being tortured by his sister; he wants to ensure he won’t lose his sister to her new boyfriend so he takes matters into his own hands

Grandma, 35+ to play a feisty 102 yr. old woman: Fun and quirky, but don’t mess with Grandma; comedic actress with strong character vocals.

Lurch,25-50: a man of very, very few words, often spoken at half speed; most of what he utters is long, plaintive groans, some tinged with irony or exasperation

Mal Beinecke, 40-55: Stuffy father of 19-year-old Lucas and exasperated husband to his rhyming wife, Alice.

Alice Beinecke, 40-50: Mother of 19-year-old Lucas, seemingly mousy housewife who’s devoted to her family so she puts aside her own desires.

Barefoot in the Park

CORIE BRATTER - a free spirit, newlywed to Paul

PAUL BRATTER - a lawyer, newlywed to Corie

MRS. BANKS - Corie's mother

VICTOR VELASCO - the neighbor in the attic

Always, Patsy Cline

PATSY CLINE: Female. (25-35). Famous, acclaimed country vocalist best known for her rich tone, emotionally expressive and bold contralto voice. A county music pioneer.

LOUISE SEGER. Female (40-55). Wisecracking friend of Patsy's. Comedic and emotionally charged. Engaging storyteller who provides backstory and narration of the play.

Greater Tuna

Thurston Wheelis: A disc jockey at radio station OKKK, Thurston loves his job and the town of Tuna.

Arles Struvie: A disc jockey at radio station OKKK, Arles is devoted to the town he calls home.
