McAnich Arts Center, College of DuPage, room MAC 192. Enter through door #10, east of the McAninch Arts Center loading dock and across from the Culinary gated lot. Free parking in lot off of Fawell Blvd. Please note, school is in session and lots may be crowded Thursday and Friday.

BREAKDOWN

Holmes and Watson: 6M, 1W

Watson: Male,65-70. Menacing; muttonchops; must have expertise in British Dialects. 60 - 70 (pre-cast)

Dr. Evans: Male, 40- 55 Silky, officious; intelligent and is divulged at the end of the play as being the true Dr. Watson; must have expertise in British Dialects.

Orderly/Moriarty/Inspector: Male, 40- 55. Physical power; mustache, sideburns; rough, abrupt; most likely a working class accent as orderly; also plays: Moriarty: 60s; tall, cold, menacing; at end or the story is reveled to be the real Sherlock Holmes; must have expertise in British Dialects.

Matron/The Woman: Female, 35 - 45. Prim, chilly and efficient; also plays: The Woman, a beautiful, tortured femme fatale; elevated British accent; at the end of the play is reveled to be Irene Adler, the love of Sherlock’s life; must have expertise in British Dialects. (pre-cast)

Holmes1 /The Client: Male, 40- 55. Acerbic and aggressive; quite insistent; he is divulged at the end to be a Captain in the navy, but makes and extremely convincing Holmes; also plays: The Client, a masked character; does not speak; must have expertise in British Dialects. (pre-cast)

Holmes 2: Male, 40- 55. Anxious; vulnerable at times as he believes he has committed a murder; in the end he is divulged to be an actor who is very convincing in playing Holmes; must have expertise in British Dialects.

Holmes 3/Senor Fonseca: Male, 40- 55. Cool, impenetrable; apparently suffering from hysterical deafness due to trauma. He is able to speak through hypnosis; later in the story it is revealed that he is only acting under the pretense of being deaf; he is not actually Holmes, but a distant cousin; also plays: Signor Fonseca, a masked character; must have expertise in British Dialects.

The Cake: 3W, 1M

Della - Female, 40s - 50s, pleasant, round, with a mass of big, curly hair. (pre-cast)

Tim - Male, 40’s-50s, her husband, a good ol’ boy. (pre-cast)

Jen - Female, early 30’s, with a wedding binder, who dreamt of her wedding day her whole life.(pre-cast)

Macy - Female, early 30’s, her reluctant fiancé, African American.

Naperville: 2W. 2M, 1 flexible Candice: Female, 50s, blind (pre-cast)

Howard: Male, 30s, Candice’s son (pre-cast)

Anne: Female, 30s, a high school classmate of Howard’s (pre-cast)

Roy: Male, 50s, a coffee shop regular (pre-cast)

TC: Any Gender, 20s to 30s, the manager of the coffee house
