SEEKING
Equity dancers for the ensemble in this bhangra dance musical.

Actors of diverse cultural and racial backgrounds are encouraged to apply, particularly actors/dancers of South Asian descent. Given the origins of bhangra, we particularly welcome Sikh performers for all listed South Asian roles.

PREPARATION
DANCERS: PLEASE BE PREPARED TO DANCE, IN JAZZ SHOES OR BARE FEET, strong bhangra and Bollywood dancers, with experience in classical Indian forms and hip hop a plus.

BREAKDOWN
GOBIND – 20s male, South Asian American (Sikh). Bari/Tenor; strong mover. A jolly practicing Sikh who wears a turban, a chemistry major who just loves to DANCE. (Ensemble)

LILY – 20s female, African American/Black. Soprano; strong mover. A quiet hijab-wearing Muslim math nerd. (Ensemble)

CONSTANCE – 20s female, Asian (Filipina). Mezzo; strong mover. A flighty, flaky fashionista. (Ensemble)

JAKE – 20s male, African American/Black. Bari/Tenor; strong dancer. Gay basketball player, who acts like he’s super-chill and above it all, but is actually a true team player. (Ensemble)
WALLACE – 50s - 70s, male, any ethnicity, Baritone; good mover. Sunita's faculty advisor, a widower trying to get back into the world. (Ensemble)

NOAH – 20s male, Caucasian, Jewish. Tenor; strong mover. An adorably over-eager team player who makes up for lack of dance experience with pure enthusiasm. (Ensemble)

AMIT – 20s male, South Asian American. Tenor; strong dancer (bhangra, Bollywood). Team captain of the Bengal Tigers bhangra team. (Ensemble)

“NEW MARY” – 20s female, South Asian American Strong dancers(bhangra, Bollywood). A part of the Bengal Tiger team, Hindustani / Punjabi vocal technique a plus. (Ensemble)

SHETAL – 20s female, South Asian American. Strong dancer (bhangra, Bollywood). A part of the Bengal Tiger team, Hindustani / Punjabi vocal technique a plus. (Ensemble)

SHILPA– 20s female, South Asian Americans. Strong dancer (bhangra, Bollywood). A part of the Bengal Tiger team, Hindustani / Punjabi vocal technique a plus. (Ensemble)

BIG BOB– 20s male, South Asian American. Strong dancer (bhangra, Bollywood). A part of the Bengal Tiger team, Hindustani / Punjabi vocal technique a plus. (Ensemble)
