Prepare a short, contemporary, comedic monologue. Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

SEEKING:

Bruce:

30 -34. Bruce is fairly pleasant looking. He is seeking a wife through the classifieds. He is a walking stream of consciousness...no filter and very literal. He has an extremely sunny outlook on life and is someone who is striving to be emotionally open with everyone, even total strangers. He pictures he and his wife living in a beautiful house in Connecticut but wants his male lover, Bob, to live over the

garage.

Prudence:

29 -32. Prudence is seeking love through the classifieds. She is the epitome of a woman making bad choices when it comes to men. She has been a doormat with her past partners, but is now determined to turn the page, although that will be difficult when her current therapist is the lover she wants to leave. She just can't break that patient/therapist bond. She's confused and deeply neurotic, but trying to figure it out.

Stuart:

40-50. Prudence's therapist. Stuart is very masculine, and a bit of a bully. He is the worst sort of therapist...he sleeps with his patients, makes suggestions to them that are not therapeutic. For all his macho bravado, he is downright terrible in the sack. Breakdown ctd.

Charlotte:

40s – 60s. It appears that Charlotte is a therapist specializing in the treatment of children, but she is Bruce's therapist. She has trouble forming her thoughts and finding the right words...or even words in the neighborhood of what she is trying to say. Charlotte just wants everyone to be happy and cheers their emotional breakthroughs. She's happiest when she doesn't repress her feelings. Oh, and she sometimes barks.

Bob:

30 – 34. Bob is Bruce's live-in boyfriend. Amiable enough with a touch of flamboyancy. He is attractive in a “do I look bloated” kind of way. He is very hostile about Bruce's search for a wife and doesn't hide his feelings from anyone. His relationship with his mother is his strongest with any woman. She is the hammer he uses when he needs to punish Bruce. He is desperate to end Bruce's search for someone to marry. He's armed and kind of dangerous.

Andrew:

late 20s – 30s. Attractive and sly. He's the waiter in the restaurant where everyone is having dinner and trying to work out their relationships. He is also a patient of Charlotte's. Andrew has been to reform school and may have burned it down. He struggles with finding empathy for others.
