Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Actors' Equity Audition Center

10 AM — 5:30 PM 165 West 46th Street, 2nd Floor

Lunch from 2 – 2:30. New York, NY

Monitor arrives at 8:30 AM to begin sign up.

Please prepare a brief Shakespeare monologue. Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

The American Shakespeare Center (ASC) casts troupes of ensemble actors. All actors will be cast in each of the plays in rotating repertory and each actor will play a variety of roles, large and small. All actors must have strong classical training and experience. Musical ability is a plus.

The ASC is looking for the following general types (exact doubling will be determined when the acting troupe is cast).

2011 Summer/Fall Season (6-month contract):

1st rehearsal: 5/16/11. Runs: 6/15 – 11/27/11.

THE TEMPEST (Jim Warren, director)

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST (Jim Warren, director)

HAMLET (Jim Warren, director)

HENRY V (Ralph Alan Cohen, director)

TAMBURLAINE THE GREAT, PART 1 (Jim Warren, director)

Younger leading man: Could play Hamlet, Ferdinand, Jack, Algernon, Henry.

Younger leading woman: Could play Ophelia, Miranda, Cecily, Gwendolyn, Kate.

Leading man: Could play Henry, Claudius, Prospero, Tamburlaine, Bajazeth, Jack, Algernon.

Leading woman: Could play Gertrude, Miss Prism, Zenocrate, Zabina, Quickly, Alice.

Character actors: Could play Polonius, Fluellen, Caliban, Ariel, Pistol, Quickly, etc.

2012 Actors’ Renaissance Season (3-month contract):

1st rehearsal: 1/3/12. Runs: 1/6 – 4/8/12

Leading woman: Could play Beatrice, Dido, Elizabeth, Venus.

Character actors: Could play Dogberry, Margaret, Jupiter, Juno, Sir Bounteous, Master Harebrain, etc.
