BREAKDOWN

CAST:

Kristin Miller – Stockard Channing

SEEKING THE FOLLOWING (all ethnicities):

One actor to play the roles of PETER and SIMON (Male, Late 30s - Early 40s) PETER: Kristin’s oldest son. A financially successful banker. Underneath his thick-skin, he is deeply angry for being omitted from his mother’s recently published memoir. SIMON: Kristin’s younger son. An unemployed aspiring novelist. He’s more fragile, and wounded than Peter. English accent.

TRUDI (Female, Late 20s – Early 30s) Peter’s American and very Christian fiancée. She tries hard to impress Kristin but finds herself uneasily walking the line between being polite and respectful, while standing her ground and speaking her mind. Natural gift for comedy. American accent.

CLAIRE (Female, 30s) Simon’s girlfriend. A successful primetime soap opera actress. Her artistic and lifestyle choices have been largely shaped by her experience growing up in a bankrupt, broken home. English accent.

HUGH (Male, 60s – Early 70s). An old friend of Kristin’s going back 42 years. Like Kristin, he was/is a political activist. Eloquent, quick witted, and dry sense of humor. Gay, and comfortable in his skin. English accent.
