NATALIE HALLER
Early 20s - alto. A mechanic.

CHAD
25-35 – baritone. A great-lookin', motorcycling, guitar-playing, leather-jacketed roustabout.

JIM HALLER
Mid 40s-50s - baritone. Natalie's widowed father.

SYLVIA
Mid 40s - alto. The no-nonsense, African-American owner of SYLVIA'S HONKY-TONK.

LORRAINE
Female belt 14-22. Sylvia's 16 year-old daughter.

DENNIS
20-30 – tenor. A young, awkward, aspiring dentist.

MISS SANDRA
24-33 – alto. The beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town's museum.

MAYOR MATILDA HYDE
Mid 40s-50s - alto. The town's conservative mayor.

DEAN HYDE
14-22 – tenor. Matilda's 16 year-old son. He has grown up at a military boarding school.

SHERIFF EARL
Mid 40s-50s - baritone. The law in town. A man of not many words.
