SEEKING:
Sook Faulk:
(Female, 40-60). Mezzo. Sook (rhymes with book) is childlike and emotional, full of life and good will. Wears her heart on her sleeve.
Adult Buddy:
(Male, early 30s). High Baritone. A successful Manhattan writer at an emotional and professional crossroads.
Jennie Faulk:
(Female, 40-60). Soprano. Sook's domineering spinster sister, confident she knows what's right for everyone in her family.
Anna Stabler:
(Female, 40-60). Mezzo. The Faulks' housekeeper with a sharp sense of humor and a strong sense of self.
Seabon Faulk:
(Male, 40-60). Baritone. Seabon (rhymes with T-Bone) is the brother of Sook and Jennie, a timid bachelor who still dreams of a bigger life. Also plays HAHA JONES, a nightclub owner with a scary, larger than life presence and FARLEY WOOD a nosy, gossipy mailman.
Buddy Faulk:
(Male, 10). Boy Soprano. Must convincingly play 10 years old. Buddy is the younger version of the writer and the cousin of Sook. He is a sensitive boy with an overactive imagination.
Nelle Harper:
(Female, 11-13). Soprano. Must convincingly play a preteen. Buddy's tomboy neighbor and nemesis whose tough exterior masks a need to connect emotionally with someone.
