BREAKDOWN

SEEKING:

Violet: 40-50, The company's Head Secretary and Mr. Hart's Administrative Assistant, she is a single mother and typically stands up for what she believes in. Attractive, strong, ambitious. Vocal range: F3 - D5

Doralee: 25-35, A young, sexy spitfire who works at Mr. Hart's office. She is proof that there is more to a woman than just her looks. Vocal range: G3 - E5

Judy: 30-35, The new girl at the firm, she has been burned by her husband's affair and is searching for personal empowerment. Insecure, determined, and hopeful. Vocal range: Ab3 - F5

Franklin Hart: 45-55, One of the firm's executives and a notorious chauvinist. He is capable of faking charm but usually shows his true colors as an arrogant, self-absorbed boss. Vocal range: C3 - Gb4

Roz Keith: 35-55, The attentive office gossip queen and snitch. She has an unrequited love for Mr. Hart and will do anything she can to win his approval. Vocal range: G3 - C5

Joe/Ensemble: 25-35, A handsome, young office accountant. Genuine and nice, and smitten with Violet. Vocal range: B2 - G4

Dwayne/Ensemble: 25-35, Doralee's attractive husband. He is very supportive of her professional pursuits. Vocal range: E2 - G4

Josh/Ensemble: 15-18, Violet's awkward teenage son.

Missy/Ensemble: 30-45, Franklin Hart's wife, clueless to her husband's true nature. Maria/Ensemble: 20-35, A young and vibrant secretary in Hart's office. Vocal range: F4 - D5

Dick/Ensemble: 35-45, Judy's soon-to-be ex-husband. An average guy, he is sporting a little less hair and a little more paunch than he did ten years ago.

Kathy/Ensemble: 30-45, A secretary in Hart's office with a tendency to gossip. Vocal range: G4 - D5 Margaret/Ensemble: 35-45, A secretary in Hart's office with a tendency to drink.

Tinsworthy/Ensemble: 50-65, Franklin Hart's boss and Chairman of the Board. A good man, who may be wiser to Hart's ways than he lets on.

Requirement for proof of vaccination:

Everyone entering the audition venue (i.e., venue employees, Equity members, non-members, casting personnel, creatives, producers, musicians, etc.) will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination prior to entry into the venue. (Anyone with a medical or religious exemption from vaccination, should e-mail ahoeschen@actorsequity.org with Vaccination exemption in the subject line and attach proof of exemption in advance of their appointment. Information provided will be kept confidential.) Anyone with symptoms of COVID, flu, or any other infectious disease that can be transmitted by casual contact should not attend the auditions.

Everyone participating in the auditions is encouraged to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.

If the risk level for Los Angeles County is trending upwards and may rise to High (Red) we will contact members with appointments at least 48 hours before the first audition appointment time to let them know there is a chance that the auditions may need to be postponed or cancelled. All members with appointments will be notified at least 24 hours in advance if the auditions must be postponed or cancelled.

We encourage members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.
