The first concert in the Citadel's 2023/24 House Series, Almost A Full Moon with Hawksley Workman and Friends, takes place December 7 – 10, 2023 in the Rice Theatre.

Hawksley Workman is a Canadian Juno Award-winning and Gold Record certified singer-songwriter, and no stranger to the Citadel. Almost A Full Moon has been performed in various ways at the Citadel for the past three years. In 2021, a staged reading of the play adaptation by Charlotte Corbeil-Coleman took place on our stage. The full production was part of the Citadel's 2022/23 Mainstage season, and now we are bringing back this holiday classic album in an up close and personal concert.

Workman's album, originally released in 2001 quickly became a household favourite for many Canadians, containing all the season's nostalgia with fun and heartfelt songs about love, family and the power of a magic bowl of soup.

Performing alongside Workman is band member, Todd Lumley (a.k.a Mr. Lonely) on vocals and piano, and special guests Chariz Faulmino (Almost A Full Moon, Prison Dancer), Luc Tellier (Almost A Full Moon, The Candidate & The Party), and Amanda Mella Rodriguez (Almost A Full Moon, upcoming The Sound of Music).

The House Series brings audiences the very best in concerts, comedy, cabarets and more in the intimate setting of the Rice Theatre. This year we are offering four concerts throughout the season including She Loves You, An All-Women Tribute to The Beatles in January, Motown Get Down, the very best hits from artists like The Supremes and Stevie Wonder in March, and Hits of Broadway, Celebrating Motherhood, a concert of Broadway's greatest hits celebrating maternal figures in May.

Tickets to the House Series shows are available at citadeltheatre.com or by calling the Box Office at 780.425.1820.
