Brian Webb Dance Company Presents Radical System Art in MOI: Momentum of Isolation

The second performance in their 44th season, Brian Webb Dance Company presents Radical System Art in MOI: Momentum of Isolation by Alberta-born choreographer, Shay Kuebler, December 16 & 17 at the Timms Centre for the Arts.

"The last time the BWDC presented Shay Kuebler's dance the audience went absolutely wild." says BWDC Artistic Director, Brian Webb. "His new ensemble's dancing is riveting in every way. It is a great adventure."

MOI: Momentum of Isolation bases its performances around social isolation and loneliness. The performance explores the objective and subjective experiences through the individual, the group and modern society - a society with shifting values and an ever-advancing digital way of life.

To shape a digital world on stage, MOI places interactive video and sound around the performers. These elements enhance ideas on how technology influences our lives, and that it can both empower and disempower us.

Originally from Alberta, Shay Kubeler is best known for his work with Radical System Art and The 605 Collective in Vancouver. He has worked as both a dancer and choreographer across Canada, the United States, and in Europe. His choreography credits include The American Dance Festival, National Arts Centre, Les Grands Ballet Canadiens, Moment Factory, and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks.

Tickets for all performances are $25 (student/senior), $40 (general admission) and on sale now at BWDC.ca. Performances begin at 8 pm.
