The Des Moines Community Playhouse is celebrating its 100th anniversary by looking forward to the next century. To build upon this legacy, the theatre is introducing a new opportunity for donors, the Century Club. The Century Club goal is to add $1 million to the theatre's endowment to build a legacy for future Playhouse generations.

The Playhouse is seeking 10,000 gifts of $100 to the endowment. Everyone who donates at least $100 will become a member of the Century Club. Members can make their donation over five years or pay the full amount in one payment. For their generosity, donors will receive exclusive lapel pins indicating their level of support. Members are encouraged to donate more than $100, with recognition at the $500, $1,000, $5,000, and estate plan levels. Each level is indicated with a different inset gem in the lapel pin.

David Kilpatrick, executive director of the Playhouse, said, "The Century Club is a great way to support the Des Moines Community Playhouse and give it a secure financial footing as it embarks into the next century. We're so grateful to our supporters from our first one hundred years, and we know we can depend on them for the next hundred years."

The Playhouse, now in its 100th season, is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
