April Events Announced At The Coralville Center For The Performing Arts ImageThe Coralville Center for the Performing Arts is welcoming exciting talent for a variety of April events.

The schedule includes:

  • Così Fan Tutte or The School for Lovers (April 13-15) presented by the University of Iowa School of Music. A simple bet puts love to the test. Will two young couples betray their respective mates? All of the chemistry and questions of adolescent love play out in this profoundly complex comedy that will leave you to draw your own conclusions about devotion, infidelity and eventually, forgiveness. Possibly his most beautiful outpouring of music, Mozart's tale is timeless and universal.
  • Kirkwood Elementary Music Concert (April 17 at 6:00 p.m.) The students of Kirkwood Elementary will present a music concert.
  • Coralville Central Elementary Music Concerts (April 18 & 19 at 6:30 p.m.) The students of Coralville Central Elementary will present music concerts.
  • Cinema Sweethearts starring Laura Ellis (April 21 at 7:30 p.m.) - A celebration of Hollywood's sensational singing stars! In the Golden Age of Hollywood, singing starlets like Judy Garland, Doris Day, Carmen Miranda, and Shirley Jones sent audiences home from a night at the movies humming unforgettable songs. Those stars lit up the screen with glamour and music. Now, songbird Laura Ellis brings back the days of the silver screen sensations with a show celebrating Hollywood's iconic leading ladies - and the songs that made us fall in love with them. Sweet and sometimes sassy, Laura is accompanied by veteran movie/TV music arranger/pianist, John Rodby. Musical memories, costumes, and fun celebrity trivia.
  • Little Women: the Musical (April 27-29, May 4-6) presented by City Circle Acting Company. Produced nationally and internationally, Little Women has been praised by critics for its ambition in adapting such a well-known story for the stage. This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope and everlasting love. Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March and their experience growing up in Civil War America. The powerful score by Jason Howland soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope - the sounds of a young America finding its voice. Directed by Chris Okiishi.
