The Denver Press Club has the cure: The nation's oldest press club is bringing the renowned and hilarious Capitol Steps political satire show to Denver on Sunday, May 16. The show begins at 5 p.m. in the Gates Concert Hall at The Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver, 2344 E. Iliff Avenue (303-871-7720).

"The Denver Press Club is thrilled to bring The Capitol Steps back to Denver. The group has a strong Denver following, and has an amazing performing history going back more than 20 years," said Bruce Goldberg, Denver Press Club president. "This will be a laughter-filled evening, and I expect a full house."

Since they began in 1981, the Capitol Steps have recorded 29 albums, including their latest, Obama Mia!. They've been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials. Most cast members have worked on Capitol Hill for members of Congress.

All seats cost $45.50.

There are two ways to buy tickets. Purchase through TicketMaster at http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1E004458945AA9AE?artistid=834931&majorcatid=10002&minorcatid=51. TicketMaster will add a $6.75 per ticket service fee. Attendees also may buy tickets, without the $6.75 service fee, at The Newman Center box office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Friday.

The Denver Press Club won't be selling tickets or taking reservations. All ticket orders must go through TicketMaster or The Newman Center Box Office.
