Acclaimed solo performer Thaddeus Phillips will premiere his new show MICROWORLD(S) at the Buntport Theatre in Denver. The show will run through November 8th. MICROWORLD(S) Will Power the entire set using devices called "wezas," portable foot pumps that can be used to generate power. Audiences are given the opportunity to help power the show by pumping the wezas several times before the show to help generate the power needed.

The Denver Post reports that Philips came up with the idea during a visit to Nikola Teskla Museum during a performance tour in Serbia. Regarding the show, the Post writes "Microworld(s)" is set in Tokyo's Nakagin Tower, hailed in 1972 as an architectural triumph and the basis for the Japanese concept of pod living. It consists of 140 tiny "living capsules" meant to be entirely replaceable, making it, in essence, the world's first recyclable housing. But not once has a capsule been replaced. Now squalid and in disrepair, this former icon of modernity is slated for demolition. In the play, Tesla and the tower represent paths not taken for reasons of greed or corruption or whatever."
