Click your heels together and join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion as they journey off to see the Wizard through the magical Land of Oz. In their search for their heart's desires, they encounter the inhabitants of Oz: Munchkins, Crows, Trees, Poppies, Winkies, Flying Monkeys, and a few witches, and learn that no matter how far our journeys take us - there's no place like home. Playing at Boulder's Dinner Theatre, The Wizard of Oz runs all summer long, tomorrow, May 18 - August 31, 2013.

Under the direction and choreography of Alicia Dunfee, the cast features BDT newcomer Sarah Grover as Dorothy, Scott Beyette as Scarecrow, Seth Caikowski as Cowardly Lion, Bob Hoppe as Tin Man, Tracy Warren as Glinda the Good Witch, and Barb Reeves as the Wicked Witch. Twelve kids (2 casts of 6 children) and a dog named Max round out the company.

Based on L. Frank Baum's novel and the MGM classic film, The Wizard of Oz is one of the most beloved stories of all time. The story begins when little Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what lies over the rainbow. Then suddenly a twister hits her farm and takes her there to find out for herself. "There have been so many adaptations of The Wizard of Oz - in movies, on stage, in music - and that's because every child can relate to it," explains BDT artistic director Michael J. Duran. "Even when we grow into adults, we still can't help but wonder 'What lies over the rainbow?' Not many shows can speak to every generation in the theatre. So no matter our age, The Wizard of Oz is magical, and special to us all."

Tickets for The Wizard of Oz are on sale now. Prices start at just $35, and include both the performance and dinner served by the stars of the show. All tickets for opening weekend (Saturday, May 18 - Sunday, May 19, 2013) are just $35. Group rate tickets and season subscriptions are available for all performances throughout the year. Call (303) 449-6000 or log on to www.bouldersdinnertheatre.com for reservations and/or additional details about the show.

Boulder's Dinner Theatre presents four Broadway-quality musicals each season, and has been recognized locally and nationally for theatrical excellence. Boulder's Daily Camera praises BDT's "consistency in technical achievement, performance and overall production level as it sets a high standard for theatrical professionalism in the Boulder area." The Wizard of Oz rounds out BDT's 35th season, beginning May 18, 2013. The Full Monty will open up BDT's 36th season on September 6, 2013, followed by Monty Python's Spamalot, the regional premiere of Sisters of Swing, and Shrek The Musical.
