Spotlight Theatre is bringing a summer of fantastic farce to Denver with their productions of Boeing, Boeing, opening Saturday, June 28, and Don't Dress for Dinner, opening Saturday, July 5. The two shows will run in repertory, Fridays through Sundays, and will both close on August 16. All performances will be at the John Hand Theater, 7653 E. 1st Place, Denver. The shows will be directed by Katie Mangett (Boeing, Boeing) and Luke Allen Terry (Don't Dress for Dinner).

In Boeing, Boeing, Parisian lothario Bernard has Italian, German, and American fiancées, each one a beautiful airline hostess with frequent "layovers." He keeps "one up, one down, and one pending" until unexpected schedule changes bring all three to Bernard's apartment at the same time. Soon he has to enlist the help of his best friend Robert, some slamming doors, and a lot of tricky improvisation to keep his three ladies from finding out about each other. "Farces are the perfect summer treat and fun way to escape the heat of summer," says director Katie Mangett.

In Don't Dress for Dinner, Bernard is back and he is planning a romantic weekend with his mistress, while his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He has invited his friend Robert, who will provide the alibi. But Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, and are consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend. The cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress is unable to cook. Everyone's alibi gets confused with everyone else's. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed. "There's a zany, mad cap energy to the show, which is what I love about farces," says director Luke Allen Terry. "Thankfully there are plenty of laughs for the audience to catch up and the actors to catch a breath."

Spotlight Artistic Director Bernie Cardell will return to the stage for both productions, playing Robert. Spotlight favorite Joe Von Bokern will join him for both shows in the role of Bernard. The rest of the casts include: Boeing, Boeing - Bethany Lillis, Kelly Dwyer, Nicole Campbell and Todd Black; Don't Dress for Dinner - Molly Killoran, Erica Fox, Jackie Walsh and TJ Hogle.
