Mizel Arts and Culture Center to Offer Visual Arts and Drama Classes for Young People

By:

Since 1994, The Mizel Arts and Culture Center (MACC) has offered summer activities for young people through the Art Academy and the Wolf Theatre Academy. For eleven weeks beginning June 5th, classes will be conducted under the supervision of professional theatrical and visual artists, who are also experienced educators. Students will explore their creativity while learning and having a lot of fun. There are a wide variety of classes to choose from for grades preK through 12th. The Mizel Arts and Culture Center is located at 350 S. Dahlia Street in Denver with some classes being held at nearby Graland Country Day School at 55 Clermont Street.

The Art Academy classes include everything from drawing, painting, pottery and bronze casting to other art forms such as cartooning, fused glass, and digital media (photography and filmmaking). The Wolf Theatre Academy offers a selection of classes that include: creative dramatics and play-making for the very young and for the older students, there are courses in acting and technical theatre that culminate in professionally full-staged productions throughout the summer ("My Fair Lady," "Pippin," and "MacBeth").

The Mizel Arts and Culture Center (MACC) has been providing memorable experiences through their art and theatre academies for 23 years. Participants develop skills in the arts as they achieve goals in classes that are developmentally appropriate for their age group. MACC teachers are dedicated and passionate about working with young people and have established a well-earned reputation for consistently providing high quality instruction.
