Funky Little Theater Company to Present [spectrum: lgbt new play festival]

Funky Little Theater Company, the newest, grooviest, funkiest theatre in town, has seen the regional premiere of six productions and two world premieres, as well as many other productions and special events in its short time here in Colorado Springs. FLTC is now very proud to present its newest theatrical endeavor, [spectrum: lgbt new play festival], a world premiere of eight plays from playwrights around the country. This World Premiere event will have performances March 4th - March 19th, 2016 (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm). All tickets are $15 and can be purchased online or at the door (www.funkylittletheater.org). Thursday tickets are only $11 (great for students or date night). Funky Little Theater Company accepts cash, check or most major credit cards. All performances will be at Funky Little Theater Company located at 2109 Templeton Gap Road, 80907.

Submissions were opened in the fall of 2015 to any previously unproduced short plays that focused, embraced, showcased, or advocated for individuals in the LGBT community. The final eight shows were chosen from 269 submissions. The finalists include: Last Dance by David- Matthew Barnes (a theatre college professor) (CO), Contrition by Tim Brennan (MN), The Screens by Erik Champney (NY), The Authoress by Seth Freeman (this will be his 100th production) (NY), Gayfever by Joe Gulla (named The Advocate's Anti-Bullying Hero in 2012 and currently in a one man show at Joe's Pub at The Public in NYC) (NY), A Place to Hide by Kenneth Johnson (award winning playwright) (TX), A Monogamy of Swans by John Minigan (MA) and The Haunting of Camp Rod and Staff by Madolyn Whitmer (new playwright) (TX).

These productions feature performances by Jessica Parnello, Chris Medina, Melvin Grier, Bryan Dufaud, Michelle Pantle, Josh Boehnke, Danielle Thurman Trina, Emma Colligan, Jacob Troy, Chelsie Witmer, Eric Goering, Benji Devazel, Steve Sladaritz, Will Sobolik, Nicole Goeke, Justin Anderson, Dylan McClintock, Haley Hunsaker and Kristin Gutzeit. [spectrum: lgbt new play festival] is directed by Dylan McClintock, Michelle Pantle, Chris Medina, Delaney Hallauer, Tracy Hunziker and Luke Schoenemann. [spectrum: lgbt new play festival] is produced by Chris Medina, Emma Colligan and Funky Little Theater Company.
