Colorado Homegrown Tales Announces 2010 – 2011 Season

Colorado Homegrown Tales, a small theatre company located in Denver, is exclusively committed to exploring the work of local writers, through the medium of readers theatre. We present programs of selected short stories, organized around a theme, and read aloud by professional actors. You'll discover stories that will surprise, touch, and delight you - written by talented and award-winning authors from our own backyard. It's like story time for grown-ups! Tickets are only $10 per show.

Ghostlight

Join us as we float from room to room in the historic Byers-Evans House, with a reader's theatre presentation of spine-tingling theatrical ghost stories based on real-life events. Excerpted from a full-length script by Colorado playwright Michael R. Duran, this year's production will be a new mix of favorite thrillers from past years, plus the premiere of a new story! Our actor/readers will include Mary Ann Amari, Annie Gavin Li, Debbie Knapp, and Guy Williams.
Subject matter is adult in nature and not recommended for those under 14; running time is 90 minutes.

The Holiday Spirit

Take a moment to slow down and savor the holiday season, as we enjoy holiday tales both heartwarming and humorous, among the festive decorations in the historic Byers-Evans House. The actors of Colorado Homegrown Tales will read a mixture of short stories from previous holiday programs, as well as some new pieces, by local authors Linda Berry, Wayne Faust, Beth Groundwater, Terry Kroenung, and Carol McAdoo Rehme.

While the subject matter is not adult in nature, the stories are written for adult sensibilities & attention spans; running time is 90 minutes.
