Royal Danish Theatre Cancels Performances Through July 31

In light of the government's announcements on April 6, the Royal Danish Theatre have canceled all performances and audience-oriented activities until July 31 (the rest of the 2019/20 season). This also includes Kongelig Sommerballet and Opera i det fri throughout the country including its scheduled performances in August. Guided tours, foyer activities, outdoor performances and concerts and tours performances are also canceled until July 31.

All audiences with tickets to the performances will be contacted directly by the Royal Danish Theatre after Easter. Our customer service is closed at Easter, but will open for inquiries again April 14 at 9AM. We ask for understanding that there may be some processing time in light of the many orders that need to be handled.

The cancellation also includes the production of J.R.R. Tolkien's Hobbitten in Dyrehaven in May / June 2020. Hobbitten is postponed by one year, so that it will premiere on 21 May 2021 in Dyrehaven and at Moesgaard in Aarhus on 20 May 2022.

The Royal Theater offers a whole range of free digital experiences throughout Denmark at kglteater.dk/xtra, where the audience can gain insight into the work of the theater, meet our staff, use digital school materials and stream entire performances of ballet, opera, plays and concerts.
