Second Street Players to Present SHREK THE MUSICAL

Find your one true love with Second Street Players this summer as they present "Sherk The Musical."

The loveable and layered big green ogre will take the stage in Milford starting July 13 for two weekends of "Shrek The Musical." This fun musical comedy tells the tale of a damsel, a donkey, a dragon and forest full of fairytale creatures as they look for love and acceptance in their big bright beautiful world.

"Shrek The Musical" will be performed July 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22 at The Riverfront Theater, 2 South Walnut Street, Milford De, 19963. When his swamp is over-run by fairytale refugees kicked out of the kingdom by a Lord who wants to make 'Duloc First,' Shrek must set out on a quest to save his swamp and the lonely life he's always known. Along the way, Shrek reluctantly makes friends with a talking donkey and gets drafted by the diminutive lord into saving the princess who can make him King Farquaad.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, "Shrek The Musical" is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori ("Thoroughly Modern Millie;" "Caroline, or Change") and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire ("Fuddy Meers;" "Rabbit Hole".) Second Street Players has assembled a talented multi-generational group of performers hailing from Smyrna to Rehoboth and many other surrounding towns. The cast and crew have been working for 10 weeks to create this far far away world for you and your whole family to enjoy. It will be a perfect evening of fun and laughter with or without parfaits after the show!

"Shrek The Musical" Performance dates are July 13th, 14th, 15th 20th, 21st, 22nd. Curtain is at 7pm for the Friday and Saturday shows and 2pm for the Sunday shows.
