A disparate group of individuals takes refuge in an abandoned house when corpses begin to leave the graveyard in search of fresh human bodies to devour.

The pragmatic Ben does his best to control the situation, but when the reanimated bodies surround the house, the other survivors begin to panic. As any semblance of order within the group begins to dissipate, the zombies start to find ways inside... and one by one, the living humans become the prey of the deceased ones.

The play is based on the 1968 George Romero classic film of the same name. Romero revolutionized the horror film genre with Night of the Living Dead. The film has also effectively redefined the use of the term "zombie." While the word "zombie" itself is never used-the word used in the film is ghoul-Romero's film introduced the theme of zombies as reanimated, flesh-eating cannibals.

The film and its successors spawned countless imitators, in cinema, television and video gaming, which borrowed elements invented by Romero. As one film historian points out, horror films prior to Romero had mostly involved rubber masks and costumes, cardboard sets, or mysterious figures lurking in the shadows. They were set in locations far removed from rural and suburban America. Romero revealed the power of setting horror in ordinary, unexceptional locations.

Directors Ben Lonski and Aubrey Edwards along side a cast of talented actors from across the region bring this classic movie adaptation to the Riverfront Theater stage. If you are a fan of the movie you will love this portrayal of the movie. If you aren't a fan of the movie you will still love what this cast has put together. Either way you are in for a night of fun, screams, and of course zombies. Night Of The Living Dead
