The Possum Point Players' musical revue fundraiser, "You've Got A Friend," may Raise the Roof, but primarily, the goal is to repair it. Set for July 7, 8, and 9, the show features a cast from 10 communities in Delmarva and neighboring states and songs of friendship and caring from more than 20 Broadway shows. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 PM; Sunday matinee is at 2 P.M.

Tickets are $25, and can be purchased at (302) 856-4560 or at www.PossumPointPlayers.org. Donations to the roof fund are also welcome and can be made directly to the Players at 441 Old Laurel Rd, PO Box 96; Georgetown, DE 19947.

The "You've Got A Friend" event also features a silent auction, raffles and a bake sale. Included in the auction are pieces of fine fashion jewelry, restaurant gift certificates, theme baskets, art work and baskets of spirits.

Many faces and voices that are familiar to local audiences and a few new ones make up the cast assembled by Stage Director John H. Hulse. Rehoboth Beach resident Hulse said, "I urge everyone to come out and see this show and support your community theater, Possum Point Players. The talent on stage will blow you away! This is the not-to-miss event of the summer!"

Those appearing in "You've Got A Friend" include Donna de Kuyper, Deni Robinson, Dan Foskey and Mike Mahaffie, Lewes; Abby Chesney, Ashlie Workman, Claudius Bowden and Cat Baker, Georgetown, and Cheryl Graves and Max Dick, Rehoboth Beach. Rounding out the cast are Dawn Conaway and Tim Free, Seaford; Mary O'Neill and Beth Howlett, Millsboro; Alonzo Dixon, Bridgeville; Marsha Shull, Frankford; Dan Carney, Ocean View; Lillian Blake, Salisbury, MD, and Leigh Usilton, Pittsburg, PA.

Rebecca McDaniel, Milford, is the music director.

Included in the numerous song selections are "A Friend Like Me" from "Aladdin," "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend," from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and "Old Friends" from "Merrily We Roll Along." Also taken from the Broadway stages are "Defying Gravity" from "Wicked" and a friendship classic, "You've Got a Friend" from "Beautiful, Carole King Musical."

Possum Point Players is located at 441 Old Laurel Rd, PO Box 96; Georgetown, DE 19947.
