The Human Race Theatre Company's production runs tonight, June 11, through June 28, 2015 at The Loft Theatre. It is co-directed by Dayton Contemporary Dance Company Artistic Director Debbie Blunden-Diggs, who also serves as choreographer, and Human Race Theatre Founding Resident Artist Scott Stoney. (08/22/2013) - The Human Race Theatre Company begins the 2013-2014 Eichelberger Loft Season-its 27th season of producing professional theatre in downtown Dayton-with Steven Dietz's hilarious Becky's New Car. Becky Foster is stuck in neutral-middle aged, in middle management and a middling marriage-until an honest misunderstanding with a wealthy widower offers her the chance at an exciting double life...and she takes it. Now she's frantically juggling to keep her two worlds apart before everything threatens to come crashing down on her. It's enough to drive Becky off a cliff, and she's taking the audience along for the ride! Dietz, a highly prolific author and one of the most widely produced playwrights in America, was commissioned by Seattle's A Contemporary Theatre to write Becky's New Car in 2008 as a birthday present from one of the theatre's donors to his wife. (12/02/2012) - Human Race Theatre's 2012-2013 Eichelberger Loft Season continues with Alan Souza's uniquely revisionist version of Oliver!, Lionel Bart's play of an orphan who dared to ask for more. Exchanging the full orchestra of musicians and the workhouse full of children for a gifted cast of ten performers who play multiple roles, Souza reduces the story to its relevant core in a play within a play. (08/29/2011) - On Saturday August 27, 2011, BroadwayWorld.com's CEO/Editor-in-Chief Robert Diamond, in the midst of Hurricane Irene married actress Jennifer Hallie Rosen after a 17 month engagement. The two were introduced by a friend of Rosen's, who wasn't able to make the wedding, as a result of the weather and warnings throughout all the boroughs. The BroadwayWorld.com News Desk stayed feverish all weekend while the couple said 'I Do', as news was coming fast about theatre cancellations, schedule changes and travel advisories in addition to all things that were happening in other parts of the country and the world, not affected by the Northeast's local weather.

That's because right next to me tells the story of a young military widow (Maria Couch) who, a year after her Marine Major husband (HRTC Resident Artist Jamie Cordes) was killed in Iraq, is completely unable to cope with the loss until his brother (Jim Poulos) leads her on a journey of transformation.
