The new Development Director of The Human Race Theatre Company doesn't have to tote the personal items in his desk very far. John Faas comes to The Human Race from the Muse Machine, which is located right next door in the downtown Metropolitan Arts Center.
Faas had held the same title at Muse for 2 ½ years, before which he was Development Manager for the Victoria Theatre Association. "John has done stellar work for Muse Machine and he will be missed," says Muse Executive Director Luke Dennis. "My only comfort is that, if he has to leave, at least he's going next door to join our friends at The Human Race Theatre."Faas has worked with The Human Race before, in a very different capacity. The 2005 Wright State Musical Theatre grad was the musical director for The Drowsy Chaperone, The Human Race's production for this season's Victoria Theatre Broadway Series.Karen Callahan, who has been The Human Race Development Director since 2001, will continue with the theatre as Grants Manager, a part-time position that will allow her to spend more time with her Really Cool Stuff store in West Milton.
