BCT's Youth Theatre To Hold Mini Auditioning Class, Held 10/6

In anticipation of its upcoming "Sherlock Holmes" auditions, Beavercreek Community Theatre's Youth Theatre is offering a mini, one-night auditioning class.

The class, open to those ages 8 to 18, will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Beavercreek Community Theatre, 3868 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek.

Class participants should come prepared with a memorized, one-minute monologue. Instructors will help students improve their presentation as well as practice cold readings from the "Sherlock Holmes" script.

This class is designed for, but not restricted to, those who would like to audition for "Sherlock Holmes," directed by Teresa Connair. Auditions for the show's 27 characters iwill take place on Oct. 20 and 21.

The show is will be presented at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays from Dec. 4 through Dec. 13.

Pre-registration for the class, which costs $10, payable at the door, can be done by e-mail at kids@bctheatre.org or by leaving a message at 429-4737 with the student's name, age, phone number and a parent's name.
