About this studio
Shannon Barnhart Dance Studio (SBDS) at 5026 Leavenworth Street in Omaha, Nebraska was started by Miss Shannon in 1973 and is now in its fifth decade, with a staff of thirteen teachers including her daughter Jessica, who co-manages studio operations. Miss Shannon has taught for over 50 years, and the studio's stated goal is to build the self-esteem of every student regardless of ability. Instruction covers ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, pointe and clogging, with most young students in combination classes: Pre-Ballet for ages 3-5, Beginner for 6-8, Semi-Intermediate for 9 and up, plus pre-pointe, pointe, hip-hop from age 7 and an adult jazz and tap class. Advanced students are placed in Line classes after assessment.
