About this studio
The Irish Dance Center of Austin has taught traditional Irish step dancing since 1982, covering all the basic techniques for adults and children from age 3 to 103, and has locations in North Austin at 12400 Amherst Drive and in Georgetown. It offers team and show classes alongside both competitive and non-competitive tracks; competing at local and out-of-town feiseanna is encouraged for students of all levels but is not required, so recreational dancers can stay purely recreational. Classes run continuously through the year and new students may register at any time, with a free trial class offered to anyone interested. Advanced classes experiment with complex rhythms and dancers at that level become eligible for invitation to the Irish Dance Company, the school's premier show team.
