About this studio
Fusion Dance Academy was founded in 2023 by fusion instructor Mark Carpenter with the aim of changing how fusion partner dance is taught in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The academy runs weekly progressive classes on Wednesday evenings built around a leveled, progressive curriculum: content builds from week to week through the month and from one level up to the next, and the studio says it has revised the sequence repeatedly and continues to refine it. Levelled classes are intended to give newcomers who have never danced as well as experienced fusion and cross-training dancers a place to start, with classmates working at a comparable standard. The school describes itself as a team effort between teachers, students and staff, and also sells branded apparel and posts class prerequisites for each level.
