THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL

Our Productions Theatre Co. will celebrate the start of our 30th Anniversary year in conjunction with the Young Artist Training Program and Concord Theatricals with the regionally produced premiere of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical.

 

The musical features a book by Joe Track with music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki.

 

The event will be presented outdoors under the stars with a live band at Lewisville’s Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W Church Street, Lewisville 75057 (directly across from the Lewisville Grand). Patrons can grab a picnic and bring the entire family to this musical sure to elate. The cast & team feature performers & artists selected from across the D-FW Metroplex. Free parking is available at City Hall.

 

This dynamic musical adaptation of Rick Riordan’s bestselling book opened on Broadway in 2019. When teenager Percy Jackson discovers he’s a demigod, he and his friends embark on an epic journey to find Zeus’ missing lightning bolt and prevent a war among the gods.

 

The event is sponsored in part by The City of Lewisville and The Town of Flower Mound. All current local, regional and national recommended Covid Safety Protocols will be followed for this event.

 

All seating is lawn seating. Bring your own chair or blanket. There are no chairs available for rental. A special area is provided for ADA/wheelchairs.

 

No concessions are available for this event, however picnics are welcome. Please follow all local ordinances and City of Lewisville laws regarding glass containers and alcohol in public parks. Join Our Productions Theatre Co. in protecting our public parks by practicing “Leave No Trace” and packing out all trash, leftover food and litter.

 

Ticket Pricing for General Admission is $12 Children 11 & under, $15 Students 12 and up, $18 Seniors 65+ and $20 Standard Adult. A limited number of “Lightning Thief Super Fan Reserved” row seats are available (low chair 8” or less or blanket seating) for $25. Also available, “Pay What You Can”/By Donation Great Lawn Seating (restricted view/sound).

Creative Team

Stephanie Riggs
Director
Stephanie Riggs holds a B.F.A. from Texas Christian University, where she studied under scholarship for theatre, musical theatre and radio/television/film. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and an award nominated and winning, critically acclaimed actress & director in the D-FW Metroplex. She is the founder and a current Co-Artistic Director/Executive Producer of Our Productions and the Educational Director of The Young Artist Training Program and holds her Royal Academy of Dancing Teacher’s Certificate. She is the author of the musical, Project Youth, with composer Jeff Kinman and lyricist Adam C. Wright. Stephanie has directed, choreographed and/or produced over 100 productions since Our Productions started in 1993 including the multi-award Leon Rabin nominated 2007 production of Honk!, where she was honored with a Best Director nomination. She also directed the youth chorus for the Really Useful Company National Tour of Joseph...Dreamcoat, both consecutive Dallas/Fort Worth stops. A sought after coach for performing artists, her students are currently performing both locally, nationally, and internationally in theatre, film, and opera. Under her leadership, Our Productions Theatre Co. is the only professional theatre company in Denton County and has been named to multiple “Top Ten Best of” lists in DFW including WFAA “Top 5 Best Theaters in North Texas” in 2009, “DFW’s Ultimate Best List” for Pegasus News 2010, BroadwayWorld.com Top Ten Dallas Theater 2009, and Nickelodeon’s Parent Pick “Best Theatre Group for Kids” in 2010. As an actress, her favorite credits include GFour Productions: Motherhood, The Musical (D-FW Tour), Theatre Three: The Wild Party, I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change, Uptown Players: Hello Again, Falsettos, A New Brain, WaterTower Theatre: Dogfight, Lyric Stage: Finian’s Rainbow, Casa Mañana: Show Boat, Gypsy, GSM: Crazy for You (Polly), and Our Productions Theatre: The Last Five Years, Adventures in Love, Into The Woods and Little Shop of Horrors among others. She has also worked on many industrial and recording projects for companies such as Southwest Airlines and MaryKay Cosmetics.
Mark Mullino
Music Director
Mark Mullino (Musical Director) has worked extensively throughout the Metroplex and the United States as a musical director and actor. Locally mark has directed/musical directed/conducted at Water Tower Theater, Dallas Theater Center, Uptown Players, Plano Repertory Theater, Lyric Stage, Labyrinth Theater, Collin Theater Center, Our Productions/Theatre FMPAT, PFamily Arts and Theater Arlington. Mark Has received numerous Column Awards and Leon Rabin Awards and nominations. In addition to musical directing/acting, Mark plays piano for the weekly Cabaret show “Mamaʼs Party”, teaches musical theater at KD College and Collin College, maintains a private studio and is an artist. Mark is the President and co-founder of Dallas Young Artists. Mark received his Bachelors in Music from Hardin-Simmons University.
Alex Davison
Choreographer
Alex Davison (Choreographer) is a YATP alum and so excited to be back where it all started! Previous choreography credits include Spamalot (University of North Texas), Big Fish (Rockwall High School), and Christmas Wonders, Christmas Stars (Theatre Frisco). Previous stage credits include How I Became a Pirate (Dallas Children's Theater), West Side Story (Garland Summer Musicals), and The Boy From Oz (Uptown Players). Alex holds a Bachelor's of Music in Musical Theatre from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Elliott Daniels
Fight Choreographer
Elliott Daniels (Fight Choreographer) is so excited to be back working with Our Productions Theatre Co! Previous fight choreography/fight captain credits include Vengeance (The Hayes Theatre), West Side Story (Cultural Arts Playhouse) and Romeo and Juliet (The Hayes Theatre) Previous stage credits include My Fathers Dragon (Dallas Children's Theater), Pippin (The Madison Theatre), and Godspell (Plaza Theatricals). Elliott holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Molloy College CAP21 and fight certifications from Dueling Arts International.
