Two-Time Tony Nominee Laura Osnes to Teach Masterclasses in Texas Next Month

Two-time Tony Award winner and Broadway's own Cinderella Laura Osnes, will lead Straight From New York's upcoming masterclasses in Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth, TX on September 22-24, 2014.

Laura Osnes is one of Broadway's favorite leading ladies. Laura firstreceived national attention in 2007 when she competed on NBC's talent search program "Grease: You're the One That I Want" and was cast as "Sandy" in the Broadway revival of Grease. She is currently performing on Broadway as the title role in Rodgers &Hammerstein's Cinderella, earning a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress In A Musical, as well as nominations for her performance from the Tony Awards, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Award. Laura also originated the role of Bonnie Parker in Frank Wildhorn's musical Bonnie and Clyde where she received a Tony nomination for Best Actress. Other Broadway credits for Laurainclude Anything Goes and South Pacific. Laura is also a successful recording artist having released 2 solo albums, with the most recent If I Tell You (Songs of Maury Yeston) released this past year.

THE CLASS:

Tony Award Nominee Laura Osnes will be working with musical theatre performers on performance tips, acting skills, connecting through song, as well as audition techniques -- how to land the role you want, how to determine your "type," choosing the right material for you, and valuable industry information on how to make it in NYC.

THE MINI-CONCERT:

Following the class, participants and observers get treated to their own private concert. Laura sings a short set of songs from the roles she's performed!

Participants of the class will then join Laura in singing a group number from Cinderella.

WHO SHOULD SIGN-UP:

Anyone interested in further developing their audition skills. Whether you are a college student who dreams of moving to NYC soon, or a high school student planning on auditioning for colleges, or just someone wanting to learn from the best, this class will teach you audition and performances skills that will have you ready to go out and land a callback!
