The Dallas Opera and Deloitte Present FIRST NIGHT, 10/21

By:

The Dallas Opera today announced details regarding FIRST NIGHT, the Opening Night celebrations marking the launch of the company's 2011-2012 "Tragic Obsessions" Season. The event, presented by TDO (the Dallas Opera) and Deloitte, will focus on the seductive power of art married to contemporary design in each of the four mainstage operas (as well as the thrilling, supernaturally-charged chamber opera) that comprise the company's third season in the Winspear Opera House: Lucia di Lammermoor, Tristan & Isolde, La traviata and The Magic Flute.

It is the vision of FIRST NIGHT Chair Kaki Hopkins to incorporate these diverse masterpieces into a single, unforgettable night; one designed to create an all-encompassing ambiance of magic, mystery and timeless beauty-from the red carpet arrivals to the elegant post-performance dinner.

It will all begin on the red carpet, at 6:00 p.m. the evening of Friday, October 21, 2011 at the entrance to the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in the Arts District in Downtown Dallas.
