STEEL MAGNOLIAS Blooms at Southwest Reprise Theatre
Southwest Reprise Theatre Company is producing Robert Harling's beloved play "Steel Magnolias" at its space in southwest Fort Worth. The four performances will take place at 7:30 p.m., Friday-Saturday, April 20-21 and April 27-28 at Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 7120 W. Cleburne Rd., Fort Worth. James T. Long is the director.
The play details the life, loves and friendships between five women of all ages. Taking place in a small Louisiana beauty salon, the play opens on the morning of Shelby Eatenton's wedding, spans her young life, and concludes two acts later with the somber - and yet, uplifting - acknowledgement of her untimely death. The play was produced as a movie starring Dolly Parton, Sally Field, Julia Roberts, Shirley McLaine, Olympia Dukakis and Daryl Hannah.
