Photo Flash: First Look at Annie Baker's JOHN, Now Extended at Undermain Theatre

By: Nov. 20, 2017

Undermain Theatre has announced a one-week extension through December 10th of the Dallas premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker's JOHN. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

A haunting holiday meditation set near the site of the bloodiest battle of the Civil War where a young couple, struggling to stay together, are welcomed to an eerie Bed and Breakfast by an eccentric inn keeper on the weekend after Thanksgiving. A story of haunting atmosphere, peculiar comedy and deeply touching drama with a top-notch cast combine to make JOHN a unique autumnal performance of a major work by an innovative contemporary American dramatist.

Undermain is thrilled to return to the work of Annie Baker with her follow-up play to her pulitzer-prize winning The Flick. Undermain's 34th season moves forward with a piece by a groundbreaking female playwright and a predominantly female cast as we continue to explore the rising voices of women.

Undermain Executive Producer *Bruce DuBose directs. He leads an award-winning creative team which includes set designer *Robert Winn, lighting by *Steve Woods, sound designer Paul Semrad, costumes by Amanda Capshaw, and properties by Linda Noland.

In the cast are Elly Lindsay, *Rhonda Boutté, Olivia de Guzman and Scott Zenreich. *Undermain Company Member

Tickets are available at www.undermain.org or by calling the Box Office at 214.747.5515. Undermain is located at 3200 Main Street at the corner of Murray Street in Deep Ellum.
