Jubilee Theatre Announces Return of GOD'S TROMBONES for 30th Anniversary Season 11/19-12/26

God's Trombones returns to the Jubilee Theatre stage later this month as the premier musical production of the 30th Anniversary Season. Created by Jubilee founder Rudy Eastman and composer Douglas Balentine, God's Trombones has entertained audiences since 1990.

Based on the sermon poems of James WelDon Johnson, God's Trombones has become one of Jubilee's most revered original works. The 30th Anniversary production of God's Trombones will be directed by Gloria Abbs and will feature choreography by renowned dancer Gracey Tune. Both Abbs and Tune have worked with Jubilee Theatre since its early days as a gypsy theatre performing on borrowed stages around Fort Worth.

"To commemorate the 30th Anniversary Season, we felt it was important to incorporate guest directors and artists who are part of Jubilee's rich history," said Managing Director, Benjamin Espino. The cast and crew of this holiday production also includes many Jubilee favorites as well as several new faces making their Jubilee debut.

Previews for God's Trombones are November 19, 20 and 21. Opening night will be Saturday, November 27 and the show closes on Sunday, December 26 (no performance son December 24, 25). Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm with matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 3pm.
