WaterTower Theatre's Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin announced today the appointment of Greg Patterson to the newly-created position of Director of Development and Marketing.

"I made the decision to combine all of our revenue sources into one department so that we can strategically manage our growth, which has resulted in a new development/marketing department," said Terry Martin. "Greg's experience and success rate at developing and implementing strategic audience growth for other organizations makes his appointment to oversee our new revenue management department a natural choice. For the past two years, Greg has been instrumental in growing our donor base through a number of successful new programs that were all part of a strategic development plan we developed together. I'm confident that this new management structure will support my long-term artistic goals for the organization."

Greg has spent his entire professional career in arts management. He has held a number of senior development, marketing, communications and management positions for some of the most prestigious arts organizations in the United States and abroad, including The National Ballet of Canada (NBOC), American Ballet Theatre, English National Ballet, Los Angeles Opera, Atlanta Opera, San Jose Repertory Theatre, The Laguna Playhouse, the Dallas Theater Center and WaterTower Theatre. He was press representative for the Canadian productions of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, unit publicist for the motion picture Shadow Dancing, as well as for a number of well-known artists including Placido Domingo (LA Opera), the late Rudolf Nureyev (NBOC), the late Erik Bruhn (NBOC), Carla Fracci (NBOC), Natalia Makarova (NBOC), the late Sir John Schlesinger (LA Opera), Liza Minnelli (OCAPC), Andy Williams (Atlanta Opera), Harry Belafonte (Atlanta Opera) and arts organizations with which he has worked. At the majority of these organizations he was hired to bring about changes in development and marketing practices that would result in audience, earned and contributed revenue growth. His work, and that of the exceptionally talented teams he has worked with, has earned numerous Telly Awards (the advertising industry's most sought after peer recognition) for best direct mail (2006, 2007, 2008) and a 2005 Webby Award (the online industry's national internet award). At several organizations, Greg has overseen the successful merging of development and marketing into a productive revenue management area. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Canada's University of Western Ontario, is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals with a CFRE certification. He joined WaterTower Theatre in 2008 at the invitation of Terry Martin. Greg's professional team consists of Rachel Mazzanti, Development/Marketing Associate - Individual Giving and Robin Rose, Development Associate - Corporations and Foundations.

"I've so enjoyed working at WaterTower Theatre," said Greg. "The work we've done in development to support the artistic aspirations of Terry Martin has been very rewarding and I look forward to achieving more for Terry, the Board and WaterTower Theatre as a whole. It takes a team effort and there is an amazing team here led by Terry with committed volunteers, Board and staff, especially my department associates Rachel Mazzanti and Robin Rose."
