The Flower Mound Performing Arts Theatre announces its upcoming shows and auditions.

The Season of 2010 Laughs!
The Artficial Jungle

FMPAT opens it's 2010 season with the dark comedy thriller The Artificial Jungle by Charles Ludlam. This production will be directed by Andi Allen with live musical accompaniment provided by Adam C. Wright. With a veiled nod to Zola's Therese Raquin, Charles Ludlam premiered his suspense thriller at New York's Ridiculous Playhouse. Chester Nurdiger lives in the back of his pet shop with his mother and his bored wife. One day a drifter comes along and they hire him to work in the shop. Sparks are ignited between the bored wife Roxanne and the slick Zachary Slade. They plot to murder Chester and feed him to the piranhas.

The Artificial Jungle runs February 18 to March 7.

A . . My Name Is Alice

In May, FMPAT is bringing back it's hit 2004 production of A . . My Name Is Alice, a musical revue conceived by Joan Micklin and Julianne Boyd, directed by Neale Whitmore with music direction by Mark Mullino. Beth Albright, Amy Stevenson and Stephanie Riggs return in their roles with this all girl band. Originally produced by the Women's Project at the American Place Theatre in New York, Alice enjoyed a long run at the Village Gate Off Broadway. This slick and lively revue created by a wide variety of comedy writers, lyricists and composers offers a marvelous kaleidoscope of contemporary women. Sophisticated, bawdy, funny and insightful, the twenty numbers portray friends, rivals, sisters and even members of an all women's basketball team. Winner of the Outer Critics' Circle Award, Best Musical.

Greater Tuna

The boys are back in town in September when Ryan Roach and Chris Robinson bring back all 22 residents of Texas' third smallest town in Greater Tuna by Jaston Wlliams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard, Fresh from their critically acclaimed 2009 production at FMPAT, Roach and Robinson bring back this audience favorite September 23 through October 10.
