DCT is proud to present the compelling drama, Agnes of God by John Peilmeier and directed by Amber Bryant. Although Bryant has been a long-time favorite performer in Denton, this is her directing debut. She has cast Marygail Lakner, Susanne Coffey, and Sienna Riehle to fill the three demanding roles.

Agnes is a young novice nun living in a convent that gives birth, but insists that she has never been with a man. A no-nonsense court psychiatrist - Martha - is assigned to investigate. She inevitably clashes with the convent's Mother Superior who wants to protect the mentally and emotionally fragile Agnes. Mother Superior must, by faith, fully believe in miracles, but also recognizes the realities of the modern world. While both women ultimately want what is best for the young nun, they have vastly different ideas about what that is.

Performances are August 4, 5 at 7:30 pm and August 6 at 2:00 pm at DCT's POINTBank Black Box Theatre located at 318 E. Hickory, Denton. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through The Campus Theatre Box Office Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. To purchase by phone, please call 940-382-1915. Tickets are also available online at dentoncommunitytheatre.com.
