Casa Mañana Presents The Adventures of Brer Rabbit, Closes 4/17

Community Bank presents Casa Mañana's Children's Theatre production of The Adventures of Brer Rabbit at Casa Mañana Theatre, April 1 - 17. Tickets are on sale now.

Join in on the adventure as Brer Rabbit loses a race to Deacon Turtle and gets outsmarted by Brer Fox and Brer Bear along the way. Come see how Brer Rabbit gets out of this predicament and back to his beloved briar patch. Don't miss this fun-filled American classic set to the tune of a banjo and many old-time musical instruments played live on stage.

Daniel Johnson is playing the role of "Brer Rabbit / Hooper Mahoney," Christopher J. Deaton is playing the role of "Brer Fox / Wiley Kolster" and Daylon Walton is playing the role of "Brer Bear / Mack Charger." Johnson and Deaton have appeared in several Casa Mañana productions. Johnson was most recently in Evita and Deaton last appeared in Disney's My Son Pinocchio. Walton is making his Casa Mañana debut.

Additional cast members include Aubrey Adams as "Sister Rabbit / Oonie Maroo / Mae Mahoney," Greg Dulcie as "Deacon Turtle / Dell Dupree," Julia VanderVeen as "Sister Cuckoo / Tillie Charger," Maurice Johnson as "Reverend Beaver / Auggie Jeffers," and Sheilah Walker as "Coreen."

Youth cast members include Katie Blanton, Bridget Chambers, Courtney Povero, Trevor Haueisen, Victoria Wilson, Reagan Shankland, Audry Townsend and Sam Farmer.

Joe Sturgeon is directing The Adventures of Brer Rabbit. Sturgeon most recently directed Disney's My Son Pinocchio, hailed by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram as "fantastic" and "almost too good for kids." Sheilah Walker is the Musical Director, Nikol Wolf is the Choreographer and Tammy Spencer is the Costumer.

The performance schedule is: Friday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 2 at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.; Sunday, April 3 at 2:00 p.m.; Friday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 9 at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.; Sunday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m.; Friday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets for The Adventures of Brer Rabbit are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Casa Mañana Theatre box office at 817-332-2272.
